Publication Ethics Policy

In our pursuit of excellence as a globally engaged open-access publisher, we are dedicated to advancing best practices and upholding unwavering integrity in all our publishing endeavors. Our commitment to ethical standards is paramount, and we strictly adhere to the Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals issued by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

Our publishing activities are guided by the following core ethical values:

- Authorship Requirements: All authors and co-authors must meet authorship requirements, ensuring proper credit in the manuscript. Authors are encouraged to provide explicit details about their contributions.

- Originality: Authors must affirm that the submitted manuscript is their own original work, not previously published or under consideration elsewhere. Proper citation or quotation is mandatory for the use of others' ideas or words.

- Data Availability and Citation: Authors may be requested to submit relevant raw data for editorial review, and they should be prepared to make such data accessible to the public. Proper data citations are expected in the reference list.

- Acknowledgment of Sources: Authors must appropriately acknowledge contributions from others in the manuscript.

- Declaration and Conflicts of Interest: Full disclosure of all relationships posing potential conflicts of interest is mandatory for all submissions.

- Reporting Standards: Authors of original research papers must present an accurate account of the work and an objective discussion of its significance.

- Human and Animal Rights: Authors conducting research involving human subjects must provide a statement of compliance with ethical requirements, while authors detailing animal experimentation should specify adherence to institutional and/or national guidelines for the care and use of laboratory animals.

- Research Ethics: Studies published must have received approval from the Institutional Review Board (IRB), and clinical trials should be registered in accordance with national and international requirements.

- Authors' Ethical Statement: Authors bear responsibility for all aspects of their work, ensuring data access, integrity, and quality of data analysis. Authors must promptly address concerns regarding the accuracy or integrity of any part of their work.

Our unwavering commitment to these ethical principles underscores our dedication to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and quality in scientific publishing at European Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine.
